Advantages and disadvantages of playing select Soccer (U-13 and U-14)
Most children who seek select football at U-13 had already one to three years at the Academy or developmental level of competitive football (unlike the "REC"). Academy teams often play with eight in one hand, although many move to eleven in a part season in the spring, pending the trial U-13.
The level of direct thickens as skills and increased competition. In most States, the layers are imported for the first time (Athena for girls, classic for boys, for example).
Generally coincided with grades seven and eight, players and families need to re-evaluate the role we play Football in their life (and blogs).
EPAGGELMATiES: play selection Soccer (U-13 and U-14)
Increased stature in the selected group. More intense training in the sport's, with experienced coaches. Opportunity to meet players from different middle schools-which can become extramural your opponents! More travel within the State or metro area for gamesweekend s. may develop a sense of responsibility and self-discipline. Players (and opponents) is even more competitive than in Academy. More opportunities for parent-child interaction during driving. Tournaments are more likely to have been, particularly in the upper level.
Cons: play selection Soccer (U-13 and U-14)
Your dream harder: eligible for specific groups within a program/Club. You may need to change clubs if your club does not have a level that suits you. Less likely to have a neighborhood or school friends in your group. Not always guarantees for playing time. This may seem unfair. Increased driving practices seriously cut into homework time. If there is anyone to Carpool with, time away from home for parents can be a burden. The costs can be cut into family funds for holidays or camps. Coach may require playing in an indoor League during winter. Time requirements may force it to give your music or other hobbies. Tournament resources may be farther away depending on team performance.
Conclusion: commitment to play Classic or Athena level football involves a lot of: family time, money, and vacation schedules.
Teenagers should be helped in their decision to continue sport, the and understand what they can give, such as the Church and social events on weekends.
On the other hand, athletes who wish to play at the high school teams usually have to click play (or very high intensity rec) soccer in middle school. (Middle school football, the same is not asking for enough to prepare a program for high school.)
Playing Football Classic or Athena in U-13 and U-14 was not guaranteed a starting position in the Group JV, but more serious players can group JV (or freshman).
